Here are our core values...

NOURISHMENT

SAFE HAVEN

We're dedicated to fighting child hunger - one meal at a time. Through our multiple seasonal locations, we serve meals to kids facing food insecurity. Our meals provide children with meat, vegetables, fruit, dairy and grains. Healthy, nutritious food is vital for kids to perform well in their schools and communities. We believe that well-fed children can focus on what should be their main concerns: learning, playing, and dreaming big.

Trudy’s Kids Cafe is not just a place to eat. It's a safe place where children escape difficult situations they may be experiencing at home, school, or in their neighborhoods. Trudy’s Kids Cafe is a nurturing environment where kids can find comfort. Certified Program Counselors are always available to talk with children about any struggle they are having. This program is not a replacement for traditional therapeutic practices, but it is absolutely beneficial for children to connect with a safe and trusted adult.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

PLAY &
LEARNING

We work incredibly closely with our community to address the root causes of food insecurity and poverty. Trudy's Kids Cafe partners with local organizations, schools, businesses, and volunteers to create a support system for children and their families. We are a nonprofit built by the hands of our community. Without help from our amazing donors and volunteers, we would not have the ability to serve the food insecure residents of Obion County and the surrounding areas.

Trudy's Kids Cafe is a safe place for kids to gather, play games, and learn together. Social development and interaction is extremely important for children, which is why we encourage our kids to take advantage of our collection of games, activities, sports, and study time available at the cafe. Our volunteers are committed to include every child, regardless of their specific circumstances.

Is Trudy's Kids Cafe a school program?

Although Trudy's Kids Cafe is not a school-related program, we rely heavily on our local schools and community organizations. Schools play a crucial role in identifying children who may be facing food insecurity.
